Light a Life This Diwali

By Dr.Vincent pau. B. | Director

Dear Donor,

“Happy Diwali to you and your family. Let the light of Diwali fill your life with joy and good health.”

Violence against women creates a pervasive sense of insecurity and fear within communities. It manifests in many harmful ways—including physical, psychological, social, financial, and sexualised violence. As a severe form of discrimination, gender-based violence is frequently compounded by intersecting inequalities like racism, homophobia, and ableism, which deeply reinforce one another.

At CHHASE, we actively raise public awareness, educate communities on the root causes of violence, and call upon decision-makers and leaders to stand against it. Our core mission is to implement strong measures against gender-based violence while providing discrimination-free support to survivors.

Transforming Lives: Livelihood and Skill Training

True independence is a woman’s greatest shield. To help women and girls secure their own livelihoods, CHHASE organises professional vocational, horticultural, and agricultural training programs. Recently, we achieved the following milestones:

60 women who completed previously successfully comprehensive sewing and tailoring training.40 women completed advanced embroidery training. All 100 participants were awarded formal completion certificates to launch their independent careers.

Real Impact from the Ground: Meenakshi’s Story

CHHASE is deeply committed to the development of marginalized and underserved communities. Through regular feedback and baseline surveys, we witness the tangible life changes your generosity enables. Here is just one of the many lives you have transformed:

Meet Meenakshi

*"Hello everyone! My name is Meenakshi, and I am 15 years old. I live in a small rural village and study in the 9th standard. My mother is a homemaker, and my father works as a migrant farm labourer on someone else's land. Because my father frequently has to move from place to place looking for work, it became very difficult for me to stay in school. *

When I saw CHHASE helping other children in my village, I approached their staff and told them how much I wanted to study. They promised to help. After conducting a home visit and understanding our difficult financial situation, the CHHASE team stepped in. They took my measurements and returned a few days later to hold a school kit and uniform distribution program.

I was so incredibly happy to receive a brand-new uniform, shoes, and school supplies for free. When I brought them home, my parents were smiling too. They told me to study hard and always do good things in life. Walking back into the classroom, my classmates were thrilled to see me return. Now, I can go to school every single day with dignity. I want to thank the CHHASE team from the bottom of my heart. I will study as hard as I can to build a successful future."

Bring Hope This Festival of Lights

This Diwali, as we celebrate the victory of light over darkness, you have the unique power to scatter the darkness of poverty and insecurity for many more women and girls. Meenakshi's joy was made possible entirely by the kindness of our supporters.

Our monthly recurring donors are the ultimate strength of CHHASE, pushing our projects to new heights. To sustain these vital programs and protect the future of vulnerable girls and women, we need your continued support.

Your gift this festive season will directly fund education kits, safety initiatives, and livelihood training for those who need it most.

We would love to hear your feedback, comments, and suggestions on our programs. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at vincentpaul610@hotmail.com.

Thank you once again for standing with us and changing lives.

Many thanks and warm regards,

The CHHASE Team
