New Working Group

Our CEO, Simon Hodgkinson, has had the honour of being requested by the World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) to establish a Working Group on the use of advanced technologies and to improve management effectiveness in Protected Areas. This Working Group will have three main objectives:

Collaboration: fostering collaboration between technologists and conservationists, including existing initiatives by Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and Society for Conservation Biology (SCB).
Knowledge sharing: sharing of best practices in the use of technology in Protected Area management
Research: working with universities in developing a Digital Maturity Model which Protected Areas can use to guide them in their investments.

The Working Group will comprise members of the WCPA and technologists. It is being established in this Spring and aims to produce its first outputs in the Summer and Autumn. Watch this space!
