Project Report | Mar 2, 2021
Quinta de Anauco keeps moving forward

Taparas at the Museum
Taparas at the Museum

At Quinta de Anauco we hope this report finds you healthy and safe.

The Museum of Colonial Art - Quinta de Anauco opened its doors in December 2020. During flexible weeks we are accepting groups of up to 12 people on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for visits to the museum upon request. Slowly but surely people are coming back to Anauco!

We also started a brand new endeavor: the sale of “taparas” decorated by local painters, using the fruits hailing from the Tapara trees (Crescentia cujete tree) in the Museum.

In 2021, the Asociación Venezolana de Amigos del Arte Colonial (AVAAC) celebrates the 60th anniversary of the relocation of the Museo de Arte Colonial to its actual headquarters at Quinta de Anauco. As part of the celebration we are hoping to repair the water and electrical systems, as well as remodeling the bathrooms and restoring the gardens and its irrigation systems. For this we are hoping for your continuous support, as well as requesting it from new donors and private businesses who recognize the importance of our mission.

This will be possible thanks to your generous donations and various special events that we are planning for the next few months, starting with restarting our concerts on Sundays and an upcoming  lecture by curator Carlos Duarte about the restorations made to the Quinta in order to house the Museum.
