In celebration of Homeownership Month, RISE Memphis held its second Homeownership Workshop at the Benjamin Hooks Library. Attendees were able to hear information from a panel of lenders on a variety of topics including the application process, the types of mortgage loans, credit scoring, and how to select a realtor. To make the experience more personal, attendees could submit questions about homeownership upon registration.
Those on the panel each had at least 10 years in their field which allowed them to share invaluable insight and advice. Lastly, we had two participants of our Save Program who purchased homes to come and share their homebuying experience.
We are beyond grateful for our banking, community partners, and new homeowners who shared their experiences to make this event a success. Those who attended also left with a key with a note of encouragement on their homeownership journey.
