The season of graduation ceremonies is upon us and no one is prouder of their graduates than the RISE Foundation. RISE recently celebrated the successes of our second Save Up graduation for the 2018-2019 residents of 38126 at Urban Strategies in College Park.
The graduates were made up of single mothers, grandfathers, grandmothers and married couples all determined to make a change for their families that will lead to self-sufficiency and wealth creation. Participants attended classes covering topics ranging from budgeting and goal setting to banking and credit worthiness. Class assignments entailed creating vision boards, spending plans and opening savings accounts.
The visualization of goals and steps in creating those goals are reinforced throughout the cohort. Many of the participants chose home ownership or developing a micro enterprise as their financial asset to attain. They all worked extremely hard to maintain their assignments, stay accountable for their spending choices and complete their financial education portion of the program.
As our graduates continue to build upon the skills in their various fields, they can be proud that their accomplishments through RISE guarantees that their financial choices will be wiser, and their income will no longer be a deterrent to saving and financial planning. They have made the first step towards breaking the cycle of generational poverty in their families.
RISE salutes every graduate on their success, and we know that they will pass on the knowledge that they have learned to inspire others to achieve financial wellness by advocating Responsibility, Initiative, Solutions, and Empowerment.
Please consider making a contribution today to sustain the mission of the RISE Foundation.
