Hi All, I’m Jeff Pantukhoff, president & founder of The Whaleman Foundation, and I’m raising funds to support our critical humpback whale research and whale disentanglement work on Maui.
This will be my 32nd year doing humpback whale research on Maui and we need your support now more than ever to help us reach our fundrinsing goal.
What most people don't know is that the members of our Maui humpback whale research team are also members of Maui's large whale disentanglement response team and our main job is to disentangle whales from fishing gear.
When we are out on research, if we get a call about an entangled whale, we immediately shift from research mode to response mode to locate and hopefully free the whale that was entangled.
Last season we were able to free two entangled humpback whales in the same week from the fishing gear they were dragging around which was a huge success for our team!
So the great news is when you donate to us to help us with our humpback whale research, you get a 2 for 1 donation as your donation also helps us to disentangle whales as well so I hope you will help us with a donation for our up coming season.
