Help Us Save the Southern Resident Orcas

Sothern Resident Orca Pod
Sothern Resident Orca Pod

SEATTLE, WA -- Three more of the critically endangered southern resident orcas have been declared dead by the Center for Whale Research.

The deaths bring the current population of southern resident orcas to just 73, down 26% .

These orcas are in urgent need of help as they are facing a double whammy -  a food shortage as their main food is chinook salmon and have over-fished and the salmon that they are finding to eat is so toxic that it is literally poisoning them to death.

Last summer, a female orca named Tahlequah, carried her dead calf for 17 days in grief. This made international headlines throughout the world but unfortunately little action followed.

Our founder, Jeff Pantukhoff, is celebrating his 61st birthday today and his birthday wish is for you to help him Save the Orcas!!

Our film, Orcas in Crisis", which we made in 2001, helped get the orcas placed on both the US and Canada's Engangered Species List. Jeff will be returning to the Pacific Northwest next year to update "Orcas in Crisis" and present it to the various agencies and individuals who can make the critical decisions to help save these magnificent creatures.

The Southern Resident Orcas - like canaries in the coal mine - are giving us a wake up call!

We must act now to forever preserve and protect these amazing creatures!!

Please Donate Now to Help Us save Them!

Thank You!!
