Help Our Research Team Save Whales!

Hi Dolphin, Whale & Ocean Lovers,

Every year over 300,000 dolphins and whales are dying from entanglement in fishing gear so we need your financial support now to help us! I just celebrated my 60th Birthday and I'm also celebrating my 25th year doing humpback whale research. Here Is My New Year's Wish! I wish that you will help us purchase this dronew for our critical humpback whale research.

This cutting edge drone will be used to help us in our health assessment research of the North Pacific humpback whale population. The drone is equipped with a special camera and laser recording system that measures each whale's length and volume while obtaining high resolution full body photographs. The photos are used for scarring analysis. We look for any abnormalities, be it from a shark bite, propeller scars or scars from being entangled in fishing gear. The drone will also be used by our whale disentanglement team which I am a proud member to help us assess how the whale is entangled.

In the past 3 years we have seen a dramatic decline in mother and calf pairs in the Hawaiian Islands breeding and calving areas. The drone will measure the growth rates of calves and the weight loss of the mothers which is vital in understanding this relationship. This amazing drone and laser camera system is already field tested and used by several research teams around the world. The best part is the data that we collect in Hawaii will be made available to all these research teams as well!

I will be returning to Maui in January to continue our research there and hopefully we will be deploying our new drone thanks to your generous support.

Thanks to you and your support, we can make a difference in our world so please donate now!

Sincerely,

Jeff
