SAVE THE DISABLE CHILDREN IN BANGLADESH

Hope that all are well by the grace of Almighty.Hope u all are know , Bangladesh  is passing  a serious  political crisis and devastating flood due to heavy rainfall. We ara very much greatful to our donors who raise their hand in this crisis period to save and rehabilitate  disable  child  in Bangladesh. 

The recent flood widespread destruction, National Disaster Management Authority reported that the floods have resulted in more than 1000 deaths and 25000 people have been injured. More than 300000 households destroyed, 700000 damaged, 750000 Livestock effected, 5 Million Acres of Crops affected in Bangladesh Feni,cumilla,Chittagong, Gainandha and more district are going on. More than 1000 Schools damaged in Bangladesh.The heavy monsoon rains continued in several districts of Bangladesh Due to torrential rains, the rivers and canals of the province have overflowed. Till now more than 1000 deaths, 25000 people have been injured when the walls and roofs of dozens of houses collapsed due to flash-floods. Thousands of people are roofless, and need of Shelter, food and clean water, tents and bed nets etc.SMSS started its rehabilitation program with the flood-affected marginalized families of feni,cumilla,tangail,sherpur district in Bangladesh. The program began with 180 families from four rural areas of Bangladesh. and later added 100 families. The families have been made resilient through disaster risk reduction training and Microgrants to encourage women to initiate businesses to get back to their lives; sessions to prevent dengue ; sessions to discourage early-age marriages for girls; vocational training for young, dropout, unskilled girls; and reconstrucción or renovation of the damaged houses.

Due to the arrival of more rain and flooding this season in 2024. SMSS has added 4 rural areas to its tally and has initiated a Disaster Risk Management Project with the communities of these areas in feni,cumilla,tangail,and Sherpur district in Bangladesh. . SMSS is going to distribute immediate relief to those communities that have been severely affected by these rains. Also, it has initiated Disaster Risk Reduction Training among the flood-affected communities and has strived hard to make communities resilient to floods. The communities have been thankful to AWARD for the program.
SMSS is thankful to all the donors and supporters who have provided great support to the flood-affected communities. Additionally, SMSS would like to strongly request all donors to continue helping the communities because there is a great need and hope to donors contribution to our community

Warm Greetings from SMSS Bangladesh Family ......

In the aftermath of the devastating Cyclone REMEL, disabled  child families in tungipara upazila, Gopalgonj  Bangladesh  faced severe disruptions to their daily lives, including the loss of homes, belongings, and livelihoods. With their already vulnerable socio-economic status, these families were suddenly left without access to basic necessities, including food. The cyclone's impact exacerbated their struggles, pushing them deeper into poverty and making it increasingly difficult for them to secure their next meals.

Recognizing the urgent need for immediate assistance, SMSS Bangladesh swiftly organized a relief effort to provide crucial support to the affected families with the support of SMSS local partners. The solution was to distribute comprehensive Grocery Kits that contained a range of essential items to ensure the well-being and food security of these families for 3-4 weeks. Each kit was thoughtfully curated, including staples such as rice, lentils, cooking oil, flour, spices, and other nutritional necessities. SMSS team members efficiently coordinated the distribution of these kits, ensuring that every affected family received the support they needed.

The impact of SMSS Bangladesh  humanitarian initiative was profound and far-reaching. By providing Grocery Kits to the 70 Disable child families affected by the  Cyclone, SMSS not only addressed their immediate hunger crisis but also offered a glimmer of hope in the midst of despair. The kits not only alleviated the families' worries about food scarcity but also gave them the strength to rebuild their lives. The families expressed heartfelt gratitude to SMSS Bangladesh  team members for their timely intervention.
