Dear Supporters,
The Childcare projects were very lucky with all the support they received by the volunteers and The GVI Trust, 3 of the 3 partners with children received funds to improve and maintain their facilities either painting the building, supplying the floor for a classroom, cleaning or repairing minor issues on doors or other parts of the building.
The support included providing drinking water for the children at the Save the Children Ludoteca that help them to stay hydrated during physical activities and to focus more on their studies, there was food provided for Children in Corazones with the support of Coco’s Animal Welfare, as every year returning to this community to share with local children and their families the traditional three kings bread, with the collaboration of our GVI Volunteers and the donation of beverages and hands we delivered the food and drinks to many families so they could enjoy a breakfast and different activities.
The training provided to the teachers in Playa del Carmen has improved the Health and Safety standards even when GVI Volunteers and Staff are absent, being certified as Emergency First Responder in the Care for Children and Primary & Secondary Care courses and even at Instructor level to empower local members to train their own colleagues and increase the number of teachers that can respond in case of an emergency and to prevent accidents in their work places.
If you think this is amazing wait to see what the 2018 will provide for these local charities, The GVI Trust and GVI Mexico will continue supporting the improvement of the facilities for the children to learn in better environments, keeping their classrooms functional and equipped for a better education, projectors, speakers, computers, cameras, and even transport units are in the list for this new year, training will stay as an important part of our objectives and training material will be donated to the new EFR trainers for better classes in their language.
A bug thank you to all our donors for the support, The GVI Field team and The GVI Trust hope you enjoy the reports as much as we enjoy making a difference on the ground, without your help we can’t provide the support to local organizations that work with Children in Playa del Carmen.
