Your donation to the Petfinder Foundation's Emergency Medical Fund has helped save countless homeless pets from pain and possible euthanasia! Here are just a few helped by the fund in recent months:
Heidi
Heidi arrived at California's Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center as a stray, emaciated and with severe infections in both her ears. Due to the severity and depth of the infections, she had to have her ears ablated, which means the ear canals were completely removed. A Petfinder Foundation grant made this expensive procedure possible. Today, this sweet dog is healing in medical foster care; her foster family plans to adopt her. Read Heidi's story.
Grady
In early March, Equine Aid in Washington was asked to take in a miniature horse. They were shocked to find Grady in terrible condition, his hooves overgrown, his coat matted with burrs and, worst of all, his right eye a sunken hole filled with pus. Our grant enabled the rescue to have the diseased eye removed. Grady recovered quickly and his other conditions were treated. Today, this charming guy is ready for a forever home! Read Grady's story.
Bridgette
City of Elderly Love in Philadelphia rescued Bridgette, an older pit-bull mix who'd been surrendered to Animal Control with a severely broken leg. Thanks to our grant, she received amputation surgery that gave her relief from chronic pain. Bridgette was shy and scared the first couple of weeks in her new foster home, but now that she's no longer in pain, she's opening up, beginning to play, and will soon be spayed and ready for her forever home! Read Bridgette's story.
Bernie
Bernie was brought in to a high-risk shelter with a serious hind-leg injury, a heart murmur and a genetic condition that caused him to be nearly blind. Despite his clearly having had a rough start, Bernie's sweet and mellow personality touched the shelter staff, and they reached out to Calfornia's Saving Grace Rescue to take him in. With help from our grant, Bernie received three needed surgeries and found a forever home with two other rescue cats and a young boy who is his new best friend. Read Bernie's story.
Thank you so much for your generous support, which helped us save these and many other lives!
