Amazing Way to Have Nearly Triple the Impact!

By Katy Morris | Communications & Marketing Manager

We could not be more excited to let you know that an anonymous donor has agreed to provide us with $30,000 for our Save Our Elderly & Kids in Crisis Feeding Center purchase IF we can reach $20,000 on GlobalGiving in the next twenty days!

Please take this amazing opportunity to keep spreading the word and letting family and friends know that a donation on our campaign page today can go nearly three times as far!

The purchase of this building will help children just like Ingrid, who rely on our feeding center every single day.

Ingrid is one of the many children who live in a true state of crisis. As a young child, Ingrid and her sisters suffered greatly due to a lack of food and a lack of care. Even though at that time, they had both parents, Ingrid’s mother had an illness that prevented her from giving maternal love and strength to her daughters and her father worked as much as possible to support the family. When Ingrid was seven, her mother was murdered, leaving Ingrid and her sisters in the hands of a father who lacked the ability to provide for his children financially and emotionally.

Now 12-years-old, Ingrid’s situation has not improved. Her sisters have left to find a stable home and Ingrid alone cares for the house. Ingrid sleeps in the same room as the stove on a few boards and cement blocks that she hesitantly admits as her bed. However, Ingrid has not given up.

Made of true grit, Ingrid persists in school, passing all of her classes. Ingrid has the greatest success in Art and Physical Education classes; a feat that would be impossible without the energy she gains from the food she receives from the feeding center every day. The feeding center also provides Ingrid with the space to complete her homework for all of her other classes as well.

Between her mornings as the caretaker of the house and her afternoons as the determined student, the feeding center in San Jorge provides Ingrid with stability and a place to turn to for food and for comfort.

Please help us continue to support Ingrid and other children just like her by saving our feeding center in San Jorge - your impact can be nearly tripled if you donate today!
