Project Description
Mian Muhammad Bukhsh Trust (MMBT) Mother and Child Health (MCH) Center of Excellence (C.o.E) is a Healthcare enabling and service delivery framework designed to help in improving the health of mothers and children by increasing access to high quality healthcare services through capacity building, women empowerment and entrepreneurial framework. The Center will perform four pivotal functions:
1. Healthcare Services to Mothers and Children by enabling local rural MCH workers to be better equipped and more professional along with the availability of round the clock emergency services.
2. Capacity Building of the stakeholders with education, training and by making an enabling environment available through Mother and Child Healthcare training Centers that provide; short courses, certificate trainings and diplomas in specialized programs, awareness workshops, seminars and programs, technical and vocational training, development of and support in professional, technical and physical infrastructure.
3. Research and Development on relevant areas through which the evidence base for treating clinical conditions and service delivery framework is renewed and innovations explored.
4. Advocacy and Activism related to MCH legislation and Public Policy initiatives, increasing awareness and favorable legislation.
It is indeed a feeling of great pleasure to inform that Mian Muhammad Bukhsh Memorial hospital, a project of Mian Muhammad Bukhsh Trust (MMBT) in Dhanyala, Jhelum has been operational since 2008 with its Free Out Patient Department, Free Medical Camps for general medical services and especially mother and child health including Gynecology and Obstetrics for deserving patients. We have served the community through our OPD services and more than 60,000 deserving patients have been treated with free medical services. We have served more than 18,000 patients during the year 2013-2014 to date.
Centre has also orgnised awareness walk and seminar from protection of Dengue Mosqito which caused more than 1000 deaths including children and women. Centre has also organised capacity building session for local woman. Beside awareness campaigns, centre is providing cure and treatment to children and women within very limited resources.
