BTS aims to save 500 malnourished mother and children by supporting nutrition food supply and medical care for safe delivery. The project aims to improve awareness on exclusive breast feeding and child caring among young mothers between nineteen and twenty five years of age group. It will impact on reducing IMR and MMR rates among the mothers from fishermen or forest-fringe community people living deplorably in Sunderban.
Maternal and Child Under nutrition is responsible for more than one third of the deaths of children under five . The main causes of malnutrition are deficiencies in child caring and poor feeding practices. The status of nutrition becomes worse at the youth age. Lack of basic health access, inability to clinical tests, malnutrition causing anaemia among pregnant mothers, insufficient referral service cause maternal child deaths.
The project efforts will help improving awareness level among mothers on exclussive breast feeding and child caring. Medical care for ANC and PNC check up services with clinical tests to check risk mothers and nutrition food supply to malnourished mothers and children will help to be saved from untimely deaths.Referral support services will solve the problem too.
Awareness on exclussive breast feeding and child caring will create a long term impact among the young mothers to be prepared properly for safe delivery and reducing IMR and MMR .Demonstration on preparing of nutri mix type foods will help creating a lasting impression on this effort.
