Nigeria faces a growing child malnutrition crisis, with many babies lacking access to nutritious food and basic healthcare. Elite Star Foundation will provide therapeutic feeding, nutrition supplements, medical screening, and caregiver education for vulnerable infants in underserved communities. The project will help children recover from acute malnutrition while equipping families with practical knowledge to improve child nutrition and survival.
Thousands of babies in Nigeria suffer from severe acute malnutrition caused by poverty, food insecurity, poor maternal nutrition, and limited healthcare access. Many families cannot afford balanced meals or early medical treatment, leaving children vulnerable to infections, stunted growth, and preventable death. In rural communities, low awareness of infant feeding practices worsens the crisis, allowing many cases to become life-threatening before intervention.
This project will deliver lifesaving nutrition and healthcare support to malnourished babies through community-based intervention programs. Activities include therapeutic feeding, nutrition supplements, growth monitoring, caregiver training, breastfeeding education, and emergency food support for vulnerable households. Community health volunteers will also be trained to identify and refer malnutrition cases early, improving treatment access and recovery outcomes.
The project will reduce child malnutrition and improve survival rates among vulnerable babies in Nigeria. Healthier children are more likely to grow, learn, and thrive, creating stronger communities and reducing long-term healthcare burdens. By educating caregivers and strengthening local response systems, the project will create sustainable improvements in child nutrition, disease prevention, and early intervention for at-risk families across underserved communities.
