During this quarter from February, 2026 to May, 2026, the victim families affected by earthquake enter into summer season in Nepal. In this season falls comparatively hot, windy situation and rain brings hailstorm in some parts of Nepal. MRC Nepal provided awareness raising training on how to save life against disaster. MRC Nepal also provided long term income generation activities to maintain livelihood of the families, MRC Nepal supported vegetable seeds for off season fresh vegetable production as a quick income generation activities.
As a long term income generation activities MRC Nepal introduced vegetable farming to maintain livelihood of the families. MRC Nepal supported vegetable seeds for fresh vegetable production as a quick income generation activities. Participating affected families received seeds, nutrients, skill enhancement capacity building training and technical backstopping support. So that they are capable of producing fresh vegetables which meet their kitchen requirement and also sell to raise income and maintain better livelihood. The package and practices of vegetable farming have been introduced as a demand and need based activities by the earthquake affected families. The victim families able to earn money from the sell of vegetables so that improve their livelihood sustainably in a longer period. The demand and need is highly increasing in this regard and vegetable farming will be the best option for increasing income and maintaining livelihood of the affected people. The areas are highly feasible for vegetable production which is the only means for increasing income.
In this regards, the affected families in a long run the need based and demand based income generation activities sustainably is the felt need in the areas for affected families. At the end the earthquake affected families are very happy and with pleasure thanked to GlobalGiving Fund and MRC Nepal for granting such genuine activities for income generation for the affected families.
