Project #18026

save an abandoned baby's life with formula milk

by Mogra Star Academy & Rescue Centre

Mogra receives babies that are abandoned in hospitals immediately after birth and those whose mothers have died with no next of kin. We also receive those who are abandoned on streets and those rescued in different circumstances by authorities. Every abandoned child below 6 months must be fed exclusively with infant formula. We are commitment to ensure that every baby thrives and later placed for adoption. We continue providing basic needs and education to those not lucky to get a home.

Everyday, a child is abandoned, neglected or orphaned in the urban areas in Kenya. There are various reasons for this which include poverty, teenage pregnancy and HIV AIDS. Many abandoned children die, others grow up in streets and become criminals. Those who grow up with relatives lack education and adult supervision leading to teenage pregnancy, drugs and petty crime. Such youth will become a social burden and pose a security problem.

Many abandoned babies are always eligible for adoption. This gives them a home, a family and a future. Every life matters. By saving a life of and abandoned baby, we prevent him/her from many dangers. We also help adoptive parents to have children to call their own. Some of these parents would have lived without children to call their own. Others want to help needy children through Adoption.

Long-Term Impact

The project will help save a life which otherwise would have been lost. For mothers who are too poor to raise children and offer them for adoption, we prevent poverty cycle from escalating. For the better community, we offer an option for those who cannot bear children to adopt. We also prevent social evils such as crime that would have been caused in future by such children.
