When families flee the war in Ukraine, many are forced to leave their pets behind. Dogs and cats are abandoned in destroyed areas, left injured, starving, and exposed to harsh conditions. Many suffer untreated wounds, while shelters are overwhelmed and under-resourced. Without intervention, these animals face ongoing suffering or death.
Hope for Ukraine rescues abandoned pets from frontline and high-risk areas, bringing them to safety. We provide emergency veterinary care, treat injuries, and ensure each animal receives food and shelter. Once stabilized, pets recover in safe environments and are prepared for placement into loving homes. Hope for Ukraine has been operating on the ground in Ukraine since 2016.
