Summer is always an exciting time, especially here at Save a Child's Heart! We have a lot of new kids that have come to join us here in Israel! We currently have kids with us from 2 regions in Ethiopia, Gambia, Zanzibar, Uganda, Tanzania, Iraq and the Palestinian Authority. With a full house like this, you can expect there to be some noise!
Throughout the summer, we have many groups visit the SACH Children’s Home in Holon. Groups come from all over to tour Israel and make sure to stop in with us at SACH. When they arrive at the Home, they hear a presentation on the organization’s history and mission and, most importantly, have an opportunity to play with the kids.
One boy in particular loved group visits. His name is Daudi; he is ten years old from Zanzibar. He was with Save a Child’s Heart for over four months and really knew the ins and outs of this place. Whenever groups would come, he would help set up and make sure to speak to as many of the visitors as possible. Daudi would put on songs and perform and dance with his guests and make sure they all had a great time.
Fortunately, Daudi recovered from his life-saving heart surgery and returned home last week to Zanzibar! Before he left, he made sure to say goodbye to the visitors one last time. While we miss him dearly, we know he is on to bigger and better things.
