Thousands of children in low-income communities across Pakistan suffer from malnutrition, putting their health, growth, and future at risk. Many families cannot afford nutritious food, regular health checkups, or essential vitamin supplements. As a result, children face weakened immune systems, stunted growth, poor school performance, and increased vulnerability to disease. This project will provide life-saving nutrition support to 1,000 vulnerable children under five years of age.
Malnutrition remains one of the leading threats to child health in Pakistan. Many children under five do not receive enough nutritious food to support healthy growth and development. Families living in poverty often struggle to access healthcare services, balanced diets, and nutrition education. Without intervention, malnourished children face increased risks of disease, developmental delays, poor educational outcomes, and preventable deaths. The challenge is particularly severe in poor families.
Identify children suffering from malnutrition through community-based nutrition screenings. Children identified as malnourished will receive therapeutic food support, nutrition supplements, and regular health assessments. Community health workers will monitor children's growth and recovery while providing nutrition counseling to parents and caregivers. Educational sessions will teach families affordable ways to improve child nutrition, hygiene, and feeding practices using local resources.
Healthy children are more likely to succeed in school, resist illness, and reach their full potential. By addressing malnutrition during the critical early years of life, this project will create lasting improvements in child health, cognitive development, and educational achievement. Families will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to maintain healthy nutrition practices, helping break the cycle of poverty and malnutrition for future generations.
