The community donated the land to safeguard education; we will construct classrooms and deliver learning materials, dignity packages, and uniforms. By restoring education first and providing livelihood opportunities for affected families, this urgent project immediately protects children's futures and helps them recover.
Climate-driven rising waters from Lake Turkana have submerged schools in Kalokol, displacing 1,000 children and families. With classrooms gone and remaining schools being far away, many children have dropped out of school, and many families are unable to provide.Prolonged disruption and deepening poverty expose these vulnerable children to severe risks like child labor, exploitation, and early marriage ruining their education, livelihoods, and future prospects, and threatening a lost generation.
The community donated 2 acres in Kalokol to build the new school to safeguard the education of their children. Your support will immediately build the school and restore education, protecting children from early marriage, abuse, and labor. The project will also build a community-managed resource center for learning and business to boost incomes, enabling families to support their children and strengthening livelihood opportunities.
