Happy Holidays!
Your support to Sankalp has put a smile on the face of Tapan, an 11 year old boy who is Autistic, ADHD and mentally challenged. His father works as a tailor in a shop while mother is a housewife. When he came to Sankalp five years back, he was not even toilet trained and would bang his head if he is denied whatever he wants. He threw everything out of the window. Today he is fully toilet trained. He now indicates his toilet needs, remove his pant and goes to toilet on his own. He actively participates in class, much subdued, his hyperactivity & head banging have reduced drastically. He listens, understands instructions & responds meaningfully. His eye hand co-ordination has developed & can now do board games. He can also recognize household items & brings them when asked for. His attention span has increased & he sits for one hour in oral sessions. Though, he still can’t speak, but can express by gestures.
Although these developments may look very small and insignificant to a normal person but we know that they’re not for children like Tapan. His parents are very happy with his progress. They now hope that their child will definitely be able to lead an independent life after a few years.
Donors like you help make our mission possible, ensure that such children are well taken care, trained/rehabilitated and guarantee that we can offer services of professionally trained and experienced educators/therapists to 51 children whose families could not, otherwise, afford these life-enhancing activities.
This holiday season, we thank you for your continued support. It’ll ensure that these children will be able to reach their full potential over a period of time and shall lead a much better life. You and other people like you are the real change maker of our society.
Once again, thank you for your kind gesture for our kids. Joy and Peace to you and your family!
