In May 2021 Mariah Tendo from Rockies Organisation started the #2kPadHerChallenge in order to provide young Ugandan women in the Nakawuka-Community-Wakiso District with sanitary napkins which they cannot afford on their own. Mariah managed to collect enough money for 300K UGX of which she was able to purchase 5 boxes of Sanitary pads and was able to help 65 girls! Touched by this first success, Mariah decided to try to launch this as a monthly event!
Girls in Uganda who cannot afford to buy Sanitary Napkins often use old rags instead which endangers their health as infections are a high risk.
It will continuously provide girls with Sanitary Napkins.
