In rural Nicaragua too many children with severe genetic disabilities, like cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy, are left without care. their families face an impossible reality: a healthcare system that cannot meet their needs: no access to life-saving formula, mobility aids or specialized treatment. Without help, these children suffer in silence. SPTLN was created so no child would be forgotten. The program serves 140 medically complex children providing critical support and key medical care
Lack of Access to Healthcare: healthcare system is underfunded and unable to provide specialized care Malnutrition / Feeding Difficulties: Many children have difficulty eating and require specialized formula Lack of Mobility Aids - Wheelchairs, braces, and adaptive equipment are essential for these children but are unaffordable or unavailable Transportation Barriers - Families often live far from hospitals and cannot afford transportation to medical appointments Limited local medical resources
We help families navigate the Nicaraguan healthcare system and connect them with specialized medical local and international professionals. We organize medical brigades, bringing doctors, therapists, and specialists to provide essential care, including surgeries and therapy that would otherwise be inaccessible. We provide life-saving nutrition: We supply medically complex children with specialized formula and dietary support. We supply mobility aids and fund transportation
The long-term benefits of SPTLN extend far beyond immediate medical care. By providing life-saving nutrition, mobility aids and access to specialists, we significantly improve the quality of life for children with severe disabilities. Families are empowered to navigate the healthcare system, ensuring continued care for their children. By strengthening local medical networks and raising awareness, we create sustainable change in rural Nicaragua. SPTLN ultimately fosters inclusion dignity and hope
