Every year, we hold this conference at Salem for English teachers in the city, to pass on those things that we consider essential - primarily the 'softer skills' that will enable students to better engage with the material, their teacher, and their classmates.
This year, free of Covid-related restrictions for the first time, we were able to return to a full capacity in-person event, much to everyone's excitement! A total of 65 participants were able to take part and learn a whole lot from the widest range of speakers we've ever had.
This included some of our teachers, who have been receiving training as part of their roles with us, and are now in a position to pass it on to others in a formal setting - another great sign of growth!
The event included a number of seminars on key teaching topics, as well as a number of personal reflective tasks and a range of group activities. There was a lot of interaction and attentiveness, as participants soaked up the great content.
And people are already asking about next year's event!
