Bangladesh is at the threshold of growth as the nation moves into computer age. Gazipur District, where Sakura Family Home is located, the computer usage and skill training opportunities are limited. For instance, at Salna High school, there is only one computer for 1000 students. Further the girls at school are excluded. Chairman and Founder Nakagawa decided to establish an in house computer training school at their orphanage, open to primarily to the 6th to 10th grade students-boys and girls.

Sakura Family Home will give necessary computer skill training at their facility for 30 orphans. We also plan to open the training to the neighborhood to share the fruit of learning this necessary job tools to increase job opportunities. The computer training is also open to anybody who graduated from Sakura Family Home, and in the work force of the country. The computer curriculum will enhance their job skills giving them the Government's authorized certification equivalence.

Long-Term Impact

The project benefits approximately 60 children of Sakura Family Home and its graduates. Curriculum includes Word, Excel, Web Design and AutoCad. Children including girls enhance their learning ability by the use of computer in math, art and science. This equips the children and the neighborhood people, the opportunity for additional skills. This means a path to better pay, and better job opportunities as well as accelerated school preparedness for furthering their studies.
