Challenge

In Kenya the children face severe online risks like cyberbullying and exploitation, often sharing explicit images without understanding the dangers. As children are rapidly exposed to advancing technology for learning, they leave parents behind. In Kenya's Turkana communities, parents and caregivers lack the digital literacy and tools needed to guide them safely. Without urgent intervention, this digital safety gap leaves vulnerable learners exposed to deep trauma and abuse at school and home.

Solution

This project builds a strong safety net for children in Turkana at school and at home. We will train 50 local teachers to spot online dangers and support affected students. We will also run digital safety workshops for 300 parents so they can protect their children at home. Finally, we will host fun safety forums for 200 children and give out 500 easy-to-read leaflets. By teaching children, parents, and teachers together, we close the safety gap and keep learners safe from abuse.

Long-Term Impact

By training children, parents, and teachers this project creates a lasting culture of online safety in Turkana. Trained teachers will continue to protect future classrooms, while 300 caregivers share digital skills across households. Meanwhile, 800 children will grow into digitally literate who can recognize online risks and guide their peers. Ultimately, this reduces online abuse and trauma, ensuring thousands of vulnerable learners can safely use technology for their education and future.
