Dear donors,
Today, we are proud to share the successful completion of the Paso Grande project. Thanks to your incredible support, 87 families—around 440 people—now have permanent access to safe water through complete rainwater harvesting systems.
Throughout the project, we built 87 cisterns, 42 rainwater collection roofs, 87 first-flush filters, and 87 hand pumps. Every new and existing roof was connected to the cisterns, ensuring that each participating family now has a complete system for collecting, storing, and accessing safe rainwater.
Beyond the infrastructure, this project was also about strengthening local capacities. More than 80 community members were trained to build the systems, and over 80 families participated in workshops on water management and system maintenance, helping ensure the long-term sustainability of these solutions.
With this final stage complete, every family in the communities of Paso Grande, Chicle, Rincón de Esperanza, and San Antonio de Copo now has access to safe water. This achievement builds on the first phase of the project and represents a lasting improvement in the quality of life for hundreds of people.
