"Safe to Skate" - Skateistan Winter Campaign

Summary

Donate today to give our students a place where they feel free from fear! Skateistan's winter campaign has started and we need support to continue providing a safe space for children to skate in. A haven, where they are protected from discrimination and judgment, free to express themselves and develop their talents, in order to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Challenge

For many of our students, day-to-day life can feel uncertain, even insecure. Conflict, poverty and discrimination are things which children should not have to face, but all too often, this is part of their everyday lives.

Solution

Skateistan provides a space for its students where they are safe to play, learn, create and dream. The organisation focuses particularly on children from marginalized groups, often excluded from educational opportunities. Through this campaign, Skateistan is aiming to broaden the conversation around the meaning of safety.

Long-Term Impact

By giving them a safe space to develop their talents, Skateistan aims to empower children and youth, especially girls, children living with disabilities and children from low-income backgrounds, and allow them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
