Dear Donors,

The student volunteers from Bishop Heber college, Trichirappalli, visited our children on 15th of January to celebrate the Pongal Day – a grand gala festival of Tamil Nadu. They shared the Pongal (Sweet Rice) cooked by them with the children in our home and had fun games with them. The children had a good time with them playing carom, chess, etc. Nearly 35 students visited the home and the celebrations started at 3 p.m. Such visits and spirit of volunteerism motivates the team of New Life to work with more zeal.

In this report we would like to tell you about Sisma. Sisma studies in 8th standard. Her father died when she was very small. Her mother worked as a maid servant and brought up Sisma, her sister Jasmine and her brother. Her mother fell ill and could not go to work regularly and hence had to depend on her distant relative Rosy, who is a spinster. Rosy’s house is too small to accommodate the four of this family. Also it was difficult for Sisma’s mother to take care of all the three children. It was then, she was told about our home by a mother of another child in the home. She approached us and requested to admit both the children in the home.

The staff of New Life visited their home and found that they truly deserve. The children Sisma and Jasmine are now in the home. They have good food now and a caring shelter. They are continuing their education in the nearby school.

All this is possible only because of the noble donations by you dear donors. We take this opportunity to thank you for your continued noble support. We also take this opportunity to request you to continue supporting us. Kindly spread words about our work to your friends and relatives and help us support these children in our home.

Thanking you.
