Western Kentucky Refugee Mutual Assistance Society Inc. is a resfugee resettlement organization based in Bowling Green Kentucky. Its mission is to assist refugee and immigrants as they assimilate into community life in the United States and specifically Bowling Green Kentucky.
The safe playground project was to provide the refugee kids with a good environment where they can play and learn, while waiting to transition into the school system here in Bowling. For the past couple of months, due to the donations from GlobalGiving, the organization has secured some play ground equipment that is pending installation in early spring. Another company in town financed the provision of mulch on the playground and other school supplies that the kids can use indoors this Winter. One othe faith based organization provided the Western Kentucky Refugee Mutual Assistance Society with dry food for the kids during their break period.
At the moment, the organization is still in need of more playground equipement as the $2444.30 raised could not provide all of the needed equipment for the playground for these refugee kids. Some of the play ground equipment that were there before would need to be replaced.
