IMA World Health's Safe Motherhood Kit provides clean and sterile birthing supplies to expectant mothers in developing countries - areas with high infant and maternal mortality rates.
According to the World Health Organization, for every woman who dies in childbirth, 20 more suffer injury, infection or disease. That's 10 million women a year whose lives are at risk, and whose children suffer with them. The IMA World Health Safe Motherhood Kit (SMK) provides clean and sterile birthing supplies to expectant mothers developing countries - areas with very high infant and maternal mortality rates. Too often, unsanitary birthing conditions are to blame.
Each Safe Motherhood Kit contains essential clean and sterile supplies including gloves, umbilical tie, scalpel, gauze pads, plastic sheeting, bar of soap, washcloth and baby supplies (a hat, tunic and blanket).
According to the WHO, every minute at least one woman dies from complications related to childbirth. And for every death 20 more suffer injury, infection or disease. For $25 you can help a new mother - the SMK will help lower the risk of infection
