Preparing Safe Classrooms for Children Returning Home

By Faiz Alali | Projects Leader

Dear Supporter,

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the supporters who have chosen to stand with children in Douma as they work toward a brighter future through education.

This project is still in its early stages, and fundraising efforts are actively ongoing. While significant work remains ahead, your early support is helping lay the foundation for an initiative that will provide children with safer and more supportive learning environments.

Across Douma, many families are returning after years of displacement and instability. Children who should be focused on learning and development are often confronted with damaged educational facilities, limited resources, and environments that are not yet fully prepared to support their educational journey.

Education is one of the most powerful tools for recovery, yet access to safe and welcoming schools remains a challenge for many children.

As fundraising continues, preparations are underway to support the rehabilitation of educational facilities and develop activities that will help children and families reconnect with learning. Planning and coordination efforts are focused on ensuring that future interventions respond to the most pressing educational needs while promoting safety, inclusion, and child well-being.

The project also seeks to support awareness activities that help children and caregivers better understand the importance of education and safe daily practices, creating stronger foundations for long-term educational success.

At this stage, however, the need continues to exceed available resources.

Additional support is essential to move from planning into implementation and to ensure that more children can benefit from safe learning spaces and educational opportunities.

To everyone who has already contributed, thank you for believing in the power of education and for supporting children who deserve the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Your generosity is helping transform hope into action.

As fundraising progresses and implementation preparations continue, we look forward to sharing future updates on the impact your support will make possible.

Together, we can help create safer schools, stronger communities, and brighter futures for children in Douma.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
