Children from government schools in India often do not have access to toilets, clean drinking water and the basic minimum infrastructure to be in school. This project is created with the objective of providing the required infrastructure including clean toilets, stationery, library, uniforms and other fulfill other need-based requirements. This will help bring the children to school and continute their education. Volunteers can also be involved in activities around the library set-up.
The new phase of the project has focus on constructing new toilet blocks in 4 schools and repairing/remodelling the existing toilets in 6 schools in Sira Taluk of Tumakuru district in Karnataka. The activity is has begun in all these schools last month and have progressed well.
A group Dell employees travelled to these schools to see the construction and also interact with the school management. Dell volunteers expressed satisfaction with the project; school management expressed their gratitude to Dell and HSP for the noble cause.
