The project deals with the construction of toilets in select schools in rural/urban area. The schools chosen are the ones where there are no toilets or the toilets are not in usable condition due to various reasons. In the first phase the construction work at 2 schools in near Sira (Tumakuru district in Karnataka) was completed. The construction work also includes the sanitation connections that provided along with the water facilities to these toilets.
The work is complete; The project as planned was completed and inaugurated in Jan-2017.
A group Dell employees travelled to these schools to see the construction and also interact with the school management. Dell volunteers expressed satisfaction with the project; school management expressed their gratitude to Dell and HSP for the noble cause.
The next set of constructions are planned to kick-off in the 3rd week of September. Dell volunteers are visiting the location and finalising the plan for construction of new toilets in 3 schools and repair of existing toilets in 7 schools.
