Many poor women and girls of childbearing age cannot get to hospital to have their babies. They may be too far away, be unable to afford transport or have other family responsibilities. Around half give birth at home, usually without a midwife present, and sometimes even on their own. Many become injured, and some even die.
Good maternal healthcare saves lives. Maternity Africa provides safe childbirth, including emergency Caeserean Sections, and antenatal care and postnatal immunizations. We also offer family planning counseling and services to all our patients. All that we do is provided free of charge, so that no-one is excluded on the basis of cost.
