ADHC (Action et Developpement des Handicapes au Congo) is appealing for support to provide awareness, prevention measures, and protective assistance to help reduce infections and protect affected communities.
The resurgence of the Ebola Bundibugyo virus in Ituri Province, DRC, has placed vulnerable communities at severe risk. Persons with disabilities, street-connected individuals, and their families often lack access to health information, hygiene supplies, and protective services. Their living conditions increase exposure to infection and make prevention difficult. Without urgent support, these vulnerable groups face a heightened risk of illness, death, and further social and economic hardship.
This project will reduce the risk of Ebola infection among persons with disabilities, street-connected individuals, and their families by providing health awareness, hygiene supplies, and prevention materials. Community outreach activities will promote safe practices and early detection of symptoms. The project will also distribute protective kits and ensure that vulnerable households receive essential support to strengthen their resilience and protect their health during the outbreak.
The project will strengthen community resilience against Ebola and future disease outbreaks by improving awareness, prevention practices, and access to essential hygiene resources. Persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups will be better protected and included in public health responses. In the long term, the project will contribute to healthier communities, reduced infection risks, and stronger local capacity to respond to health emergencies.
