The impact of the Tarkwa Breman Community Clinic (TBCC) continues to grow, bringing essential healthcare services closer to those who need them most. Through our Rural Health Equity Program, we ensure that individuals and families in rural cocoa-growing communities can access quality, affordable, and dignified care.
Cecilia is an expectant mother who recently visited the clinic for her routine antenatal check-up. Her presence at the clinic is a powerful reminder of why accessible healthcare matters. For many women in rural communities, pregnancy can come with significant challenges—especially when healthcare facilities are far away.
Seeing pregnant women walk into the clinic, knowing that they did not have to endure a long and difficult journey while pregnant, highlights the critical role TBCC plays in safeguarding maternal health. Antenatal care is essential for monitoring the health of both mother and baby, ensuring early detection of potential complications and promoting safe delivery outcomes.
Before the establishment of the clinic, many pregnant women were forced to miss appointments due to distance, cost, and limited access to care. Today, that story has changed. With services now available within the community, expectant mothers can prioritize their health and give their babies a stronger start to life.
This is what healthcare access looks like in action — removing barriers, restoring dignity, and improving outcomes for families.
We remain deeply grateful to all our donors and partners whose support makes this work possible. Together, we are expanding access to care and building healthier communities, one life at a time.
