Challenge

Bangladesh is the densely populated country. A large number of people are poor. It is the major problem for the Sundarbans coastal community due to lack of working scope in the locality. The villagers are completely dependent on the Sundarbans forest resources. During the global pandemic, coastal people can't move outside due to the government restriction. But hand to mouth people is in epic jeopardy. At this situation they are suffering food crisis with their family members.

Solution

Agro-Ecology (Environment friendly agriculture, fishing and livestock), Homestead gardening, crab fattening, sewing activities etc. are our concerned sectors for reducing the poverty of the marginal communities in order to ensure the Better home for Better life in response to COVID-19

Long-Term Impact

We don't know how long the COVID-19 will continue so such kind of income generating activities will support the marginal coastal communities to survive in such situation. Even after COVID-19 situation people can improve their livelihood through this Agro farming activities and it is promising alternative income generating sector for reducing the pressure of the Sundarbans natural forest resources.
