Dear wonderful donors.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic, things had been very tough for us and our beneficiaries, as you would imagine. School closures, restrictions of movement and congregation of people, and mandatory face masks have impacted our work. We were forced to suspend this project until we can safely continue with our activities.
We are happy to report that we have now resumed our intervention. The beneficiary girls are excited more than anyone else since they understand the difference the extra lessons have made in their performance. The parents are excited too, and so are we. Thank you for making that possible.
We are currently conducting the activities.
1. Provision of complete school uniform for 100 girls taking part in the intervention.
2. Provision of face masks to each pupil at Bulla Afya Primary School.
3. Provision of reading books, nursery toys and games.
4. Construction of a twin toilet used by the girls and female teachers at the school.
5. Planning for the resubmission lessons in early June 2021.
We are also happy to report that parents at the school contributed to the construction of the toilet despite the economic difficulties they are facing. The money they have collected (Ksh 20,000 = $180) will pay the labour cost of the toilet construction. They have shown willingness to provide material and in-kind support to ensure their girls have a decent toilet. In our following report, we shall share with you further details the impacts of the current and planned activities. We very much appreciate your continued support to provide quality education for orphaned and vulnerable girls in Mandera County. Please share our projects with friends, families and acquaintances so that together we can give hope for a brighter future for our girls.
As you know, girls education strengthens economies, reduces inequalities and make the attainment of many of the SDGs possible. Thank you for joining us in this effort.
May God bless you.
