The "Rural Digital Literacy: Empower Youth & Children" project aims to bridge the digital divide by providing essential digital literacy skills to young people and children in rural areas of western Kenya. This initiative, led by Vijana Tuungane Youth Group, seeks to empower the next generation with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in the digital age.
Despite the rapid growth of digital technology globally, many rural areas in Kenya remain underserved, resulting in a significant digital divide. Youth and children in these regions often lack access to digital resources, education, and training, which hinders their ability to participate in the digital economy and benefit from the opportunities it offers.
Digital Skills Training: Providing structured training programs to teach essential digital skills. Technology Access: Establishing computer labs and internet access points in community centers and schools. Educational Workshops: Conducting workshops on advanced topics such as cybersecurity, digital communication, online learning platforms, and job search strategies. These workshops will prepare participants for safe and productive online engagement.
