We are pleased to provide an update on the Rural Climate Resilience Awareness Campaign (Project #69866).
At this stage, the project remains in its inception phase. Our team has been actively engaged in laying the groundwork necessary for the successful implementation of the campaign. This includes refining the project design, identifying key rural communities that will serve as pilot areas, and developing awareness materials focused on climate adaptation, sustainable farming, and community-led resilience practices.
However, the full rollout of the project activities has not yet commenced, primarily due to limited funding support. The resources currently available are insufficient to cover essential components such as training logistics, awareness campaigns, community mobilization, and field visits. Despite this challenge, we have continued to pursue potential funding opportunities, partnerships, and in-kind support to ensure the project achieves its intended impact.
We remain committed to the project’s objectives empowering rural communities to understand, adapt to, and mitigate the impacts of climate change through inclusive awareness campaigns and local action. Once funding becomes available, our immediate next steps will include:
Community Engagement and Mobilization: Conducting sensitization meetings with local leaders and youth groups in targeted rural communities.
Training Workshops: Organizing capacity-building sessions on climate-smart agriculture, environmental conservation, and disaster risk reduction.
Awareness Campaigns: Launching radio programs, community dialogues, and school-based outreach to promote climate literacy.
We sincerely appreciate the continued support and visibility that GlobalGiving provides. With additional donor support, we are confident that the Rural Climate Resilience Awareness Campaign will make a tangible contribution toward building adaptive capacity and resilience in vulnerable communities.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing encouragement.
Warm regards,
Saidu Abubakar
