When Rukundo Preparatory School opened its doors in 2018, we dreamed of one day providing a complete primary education for children in our community. Every classroom added since then has been possible because of supporters like you.
Today, we're excited to share that we have reached an incredible milestone: only two rooms remain to complete our three-story primary school building.
Although construction has not resumed during this reporting period, important progress has continued behind the scenes. This spring, our annual Chicken Run fundraiser raised enough funds to complete one of the two remaining classrooms. That means we are now able to begin planning for the final phase of construction with confidence, knowing that one room is already fully funded.
The final room will serve as our Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) and Multipurpose Hall. While it will host our P7 students during Uganda's national examinations each year, it will also become a gathering place for school assemblies, teacher trainings, parent meetings, performances, graduations, and community events throughout the year. More than an exam hall, it will become the heart of our school community for generations to come.
It's amazing to reflect on how far we've come. What began as an empty piece of land has grown, one classroom at a time, into a thriving nursery and primary school serving hundreds of children daily. With just two rooms left (and one already funded) we can finally see the finish line.
Over the coming months, we'll be focused on completing this important milestone. If you'd like to help us place the last brick, we'd love for you to be part of the journey. You can support the project by making a donation through GlobalGiving or by participating in our annual Bid for Brighter Futures silent auction on September 27, where every bid will help bring this final room to life.
Thank you for believing in our students and for helping build a school that will serve children, families, and the entire community for generations to come. We look forward to sharing photos as construction on this final phase begins and celebrating another major milestone together!
