Rukundo Preparatory School (RPS) offers a premier education experience. Small classes, dedicated teachers, & new facilities, including flushing toilets, make our school stand out among other rural schools with overcrowded classrooms & unsanitary conditions. In addition, we provide two nutritious meals each day--for some students, the only meals they rely on. To help support more children, we need YOUR help to raise $45K to complete the construction of our primary school's third level.
In rural southwestern Uganda, many children lack access to quality education due to poverty, overcrowded classrooms, and limited resources. Since 2018, Rukundo Preparatory School has grown one class at a time and now serves hundreds of students with quality education, meals, and healthcare. Our three-story primary school building is just two rooms from completion. Finishing the final PLE & Multipurpose Hall will complete a school designed to help children reach their full potential.
Our school provides a first-rate education to children in Uganda. Many of these children had never seen playground equipment & had to be taught how to use it! Our students are thriving because each child is cared for in a holistic way. Our school is a safe haven to play, learn new skills, and have access to clean water and healthy meals. Constructing the final level will allow our Primary 7 students to graduate in 2026 with a permanent space to finish their primary education.
Going beyond the school's primary mission, our focus is on sustainable programs that will impact the well-being of the entire community. We achieve this by using our school's grounds and facilities as a community center for weekly children's events, health clinics, women's empowerment groups, vocational training, and more. Our vision is "a Uganda where all children reach their full potential"-starting with Kyanamira. We believe education is the key to help Ugandans become world-changers.
