Covid Update Report

We'd like take a moment in this report to sincerely thank you all for your support of this project from its infancy. With your help our "pipe dream" turned into a reality and the transformation of our bus into a mobile homeless shelter came together with great effect. For those of you who follow our social media, you will have seen the transformation first hand. As the team driving the project behind-the-scenes, it's been a joy to see how charitable and giving our community is.

In our last reports we highlighted that the bus was active in Wolverhampton. Unfortunately within the early days of the first national lockdown, this partnership was no longer viable as the organisation was forced to shift its strategy to individual accommodation vs. shared. In that time, our club has worked tirelessly to source a new partner, however, in this regulatory and economic environment this will be significantly delayed. The bus has been safely kept and maintained in the interim.

As a result of the above, the Shelterbus will have a change of leadership and structure. The project will continue to be lead by two previous project leaders, Angelo and Luca Buratti, however, it will no longer be a project of the Rotary Club of Birmingham Breakfast. Therefore, this GlobalGiving account will be deactivated while the transfer takes place and a new fundraising platform will be set up once the restructured leadership is established.

For any charity or charitable project in this time, it is important to remain agile so you can adapt to the increasingly changing circumstances. It is our hope that this change brings new success for the Shetlerbus. The Rotary Club of Birmingham Breakfast will continue to support our fellow Rotarians as they manage this project outside of the club's jurisdiction and involvement. Rotarians believe in "Service Above Self" and this project certainly represents that character.

For the latest updates on Shelterbus you can continue to follow along via social media. You may see a few changes in regard to the name or brand on our website or social pages as these will roll out over the next few months.

Thank you again for your support so far. I hope you will continue to be a part of our journey moving forward.

Kind regards,

The Shelterbus Team
