Dear Kind Supporter
You may remember my note from a couple of weeks ago, where I shared an incredible upcoming match opportunity. I’m excited to let you know that matching is now live! Today 15th July, for 24 hours, all cash donations over $100 (or equivalent) will be eligible for matching.
As you’ve kindly donated in the past to our Ukraine emergency work, I firstly want to thank you. I know that helping innocent animals in conflict zones matters to you, and we’re so grateful for your support. I wanted to let you know about this match opportunity today, where donations to rescue operations in Ukraine will go even further.
Rescue operations like the one that ROLDA’s founder Dana was part of just weeks ago, in June. Setting out on this dangerous mission, Dana and the rescue team travelled across the Ukrainian border in a vehicle loaded with supplies and rescue equipment.
Travelling between dilapidated buildings, they sought out precise locations where reports had been made of abandoned animals, and addresses where pets had been heartbreakingly left behind, as their owners had no other option but to flee for safety.
“When the heavy rain started, I thought ‘this is the last thing we need’. We were soaking wet, walking through muddy gardens trying to convince frightened and confused animals to come with us. But I was told we’re safer in the rain because it stops the drones - and means we’re more likely to return safely”
Dana, Founder & CEO of ROLDA
It’s hard to imagine the anticipation felt by the rescuers in these dangerous situations, but their determination to save these innocent souls who have been left behind is what drives them forward. Thank you for being beside them.
Please donate $100 (or equivalent) to the Ukraine Emergency Appeal - and today your gift will be worth even more. Your gift can provide rescue crates and medical supplies that transport and treat injured animals, as well as crucial protective gear and high capacity rescue vehicles for the team. You’ll be allowing brave rescuers to fill vehicles with animals who have nobody else, and leave the conflict zones as quickly and safely as possible.
I wanted to finish my note by sharing with you the positive outcome of one particular rescue mission. On this day, the team evacuated a van filled with 38 animals. Amongst them were 6 cats, 20 kittens, and 12 dogs. Four of these dogs were reunited with their anxiously waiting owners, which was an incredible achievement and a small moment of joy felt throughout times of such hardship.
Sadly there are so many more animals in danger that desperately need us. Sometimes the numbers feel insurmountable, but with a gift today, you’ll make sure our rescue team can bring them to safety.
Thank you for caring about animals in Ukraine
