Since our previous update in June, Rising Water Rising Needs - Syria has remained active on GlobalGiving. At this reporting point, the project has received $20.32 from two donors. We are sincerely grateful for this support, but the amount raised is still far below what is required to begin a responsible field response.
The project was created to help flood-affected and displaced families facing damaged shelter, unsafe water, loss of basic household items, and other urgent needs. Our planned response remains focused on practical assistance including clean water and hygiene supplies, basic relief items, food, warmth, and support for safer living conditions.
No distributions have been carried out under this project yet. With the current level of funding, beginning activities would mean reaching only a very small number of people and would not allow us to organize a fair and meaningful response. For this reason, the project remains open while we continue seeking sufficient resources to begin an initial phase of assistance.
We remain committed to transparent reporting. Once enough funding is available to begin implementation, we will share what assistance was delivered, how many people were reached, and how the funds were used. We are grateful to the donors who have already taken the first step with us and to everyone who continues to follow this project.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
