Summer 2023 is coming in hot!

By Kaitlin Krause | Executive Director

Kick Kick!
Kick Kick!
Rising Tide Effect has been bustling with activity since our last update. As we approach the start of summer in about 50 days, we are finalizing our programming at The Rockaway Hotel, where we will be serving children experiencing homelessness during July and August. In addition, we will be working exclusively with the young men from St John's Residence for Boys located across from the hotel this June.
Moreover, we are excited to expand our impact this summer by working with the residents of Ocean Park on Beach 17th Street in Far Rockaway, moving from the pilot phase to the program phase since summer 2022.

As a new initiative, we are leading a SYEP for NYCHA residents aged 16 to 24. We are piloting a one-of-a-kind NYCHA Swim Safety Corps, where participants will be paid $15 per hour for 150 hours of participation.
Finally, we would be honored if you could join us for our first-ever fundraiser on June 9th at The Rockaway Hotel. It's set to be an unforgettable evening, complete with special guests and entertainment both around the pool and inside the pool house. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.
We hope to see you there!
