Seeds of Hope: The Rice Project 2024

By Prawina Sompong | PR Manager

Dear GlobalGiving and All Donors,

On behalf of the Mercy Centre, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of the Rice Project. Your contributions have profoundly impacted the lives of over 1,000 preschoolers attending our 17 schools across Bangkok, Thailand.

The Rice Project ensures that every child at our preschools receives nutritious meals daily. Operating five days a week throughout the year, the Mercy preschools provide an average of 260 school days annually. Each child receives one meal and a snack per day, amounting to:

1,000 children × 260 days = 260,000 meals

These meals can help them to nourish the body, fuel learning, and foster growth. For many children, these school-provided meals are the most substantial source of daily nutrition. Your support ensures their physical well-being and empowers them to learn and develop in a safe and nurturing environment.

Every grain of rice represents the love and hope you bring to these young lives. Your kindness inspires us to continue striving for brighter futures for the children, their families, and the community we serve.

The Rice Project’s impact extends beyond the classroom. Parents can focus on their work with peace of mind, knowing their children are cared for in a supportive setting. Teachers have reported significant improvements in the children’s energy levels, concentration, and overall development.

From the entire Mercy Centre family, we thank GlobalGiving and all donors for your unwavering support. Your compassion and generosity are the foundation of the Rice Project’s success, enabling us to transform our lives and build stronger communities.

Thank you for standing with us on this mission. We couldn’t do it without you.

With gratitude,
The Mercy Centre Team
