This project will train 20 marginalised youth in regenerative agriculture to restore 75% of Cameroon's degraded farmland, combat food insecurity, and create green jobs. Through hands-on agroforestry, permaculture, and business training, we'll empower a new generation of farmers to heal ecosystems while earning livable incomes.
Cameroon's topsoil degradation threatens food security and livelihoods for millions. Unsustainable farming has caused half of the world's productive soil to disappear, with one-third already degraded. Since 95% of food depends on healthy topsoil, this crisis jeopardises food production and planetary health. Farmers face lack of awareness, financial barriers, and limited access to regenerative practices. Urgent action is needed to restore soil health and empower farmers with sustainable solutions
Our 9-month program trains 20 youth annually (70% female) in regenerative agriculture, teaching them soil restoration and sustainable farming practices. Graduates restore degraded land, launch eco-friendly businesses, and train others. We also support farmer cooperatives through a revolving fund. This approach enhances food security, generates green jobs, and fosters ecological and economic resilience in vulnerable communities.
This project will restore 50+ hectares of degraded land, sequester carbon, and boost biodiversity through regenerative farming. By training 20 youth annually, we'll create a network of skilled farmers who can train others, spreading sustainable practices across Cameroon. Over time, this will enhance food security, increase farmer incomes, and build climate resilience-ensuring healthier ecosystems and livelihoods for future generations.
